  理化学研究表明，该病毒为rna病毒，对氯仿、乙醚敏感；胰酶试验中，经37 、 1小时处理的病毒，仍然能够在猫源细胞fcwf细胞上生长，并且毒力基本保持不变；耐酸性试验中，病毒分别在ph5 . 0和ph3 . 0经37作用2小时，毒力仅下降一个滴度；耐热性试验中，该病毒在恒定温度50 ，设定不同时间，从5分钟到150分钟，毒力均有不同程度下降，其中， 50作用30分钟，病毒平均滴度下降2个单位； 50 ， 60分钟， cpe消失；恒定时间1小时，设定不同温度( 50 - 60 - 70 - 80 ) ，病毒在细胞上完全丧失增殖能力， cpe消失。生物学试验，利用实验室现有条件，选择不同的细胞系对该病毒进行培养，发现该病毒对猫源细胞fcwf最敏感； mdck细胞次之； f81细胞经多次传代，亦可出现cpe ；而vero细胞则不敏感。血凝试验表明，该病毒对猪、鸡、人及豚鼠的红细胞均无血凝性。
