On the basic of the former study , the thesis is trying to probe into how the rural elite was under the influence of the abolishment of imperial examinations system . at first , the thesis has argued the standard of the rural elite before imperial examinations system was abolished , the argument of which is that the rural elites were the persons with diploma of imperial examinations , wealth and influence in his genes , which are the gents in the rural society 本文试图在前人研究的基础上，从一个新的角度来探讨科举制的废除对农村精英的影响。本文首先阐述了在科举制废除之前的乡村社会精英的划分标准，认为乡村精英是既拥有一定的科举功名，又有一定的财富，并且还是宗族中有影响的人，他们就是乡村社会的士绅阶层。
The thesis has probed this problem via the gents " leadership in state ' s power system , peasant association , the school system and popular organization after imperial examinations system was abolished . after the imperial examinations system was abolished , the gents functioned via the autonomy organization in state ' s power system , and the most of the peasant association ' s leaders are gents , and gents not only led the school itself , but also led the ideology of school 本文从科举制废除之后的国家权力系统、农会、学堂系统及民间组织中士绅阶层的领导作用来论述这个问题，在科举制废除后的国家权力系统中士绅阶层通过地方自治机构来发挥作用；在农会中其领导人员也以士绅为主；在学堂系统中士绅的领导地位不仅体现在对学堂这一机构实体的领导上，而且体现在对学堂思想的领导上，在民间组织如宗教组织中，士绅也能发挥领导作用。
