Some characters do carry physical resemblance with the comic characters , while some do not . but fortunately , the good thing about this movie adaptation is that it succeeds in capturing the spirit of the original , especially the positive attitude of the characters and their pure passions in car racing . compared to director andrew lau s previous car racing movie 自问不是漫画书迷，但总算看过一些《头文字d 》的动画，对于情节上的改动可以接受，因为最重要的是，编导成功保留了原著中人物比较单纯和正面的特色，赛车的比拼也偏向纯技术性的较量。
