We all know that his life was closely related to the contemporary history , but the movie will be unbalanced if we spend too much time on the depiction of the turbulence of wars or the chaotic society , and that s what i don t want to see 如果放太多时间表达他一生人所做过的事，或太过侧重描写时代的动荡、战争场面的伟大，很可能会失去重心。我希望能将黎民伟感动人的伟大精神拍出来，这包括他的一生和感动人的地方。
At the same time , we would also like to promote lai man - wai and the history of chinese cinema to overseas audience , that explains why we have included removable subtitles of four foreign languages ( english , french , german and japanese ) on the dvd 另外我们制作dvd时亦有考虑这个问题，我们希望能将这些历史和黎民伟这个人向国外推广，所以在dvd上加上英语、日语、德语和法语等四国语言的字幕，方便外国的学者欣赏购买。
That s why when i knew that the dvd of this documentary was finally released , i quickly got myself a copy and watched it immediately . this documentary is divided into five chapters , it covers lai man - wai s life chronologically , including his early days in the revolutionary party , the heyday of lianhua and his late years 黎民伟的一生经历非常丰富，本片全长140分钟，编导蔡继光和罗卡把他生平分为五个部分，有系统地讲述他出身，创办民新和联华电影公司的过程和晚年的一些事迹。
