The differences of the quality of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati from different origins were assessed through uv - spectrophotometry in order to find the cause of variance content of total anthraquinone in rhizoma polygoni cuspidati . the results showed the contents differed among different origins and growing ages ; the constitute of polydatine were determined by hplc . as its antifungal and antioxidant activity , polydatine can be used as a standard of quality control , as total anthraquinone in rhiz oma polygoni cuspidati . we have also assessed its quality by the fingerprint through hpce to provide the evidence for the exploitation and utilization of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati 综合考察了虎杖药材的不同产地、不同生长期、不同采集期和不同加工方法对虎杖质量的影响，发现产地和生长年限的不同是造成虎杖质量差异的根本原因。本研究为生产中确定优质、稳定虎杖的药材来源，保障虎杖制剂的质量稳定，同时也为建立虎杖药材的标准化生产基地，提供了科学依据。
